Q: How old do you have to be to start in the apprenticeship program?
A: 17 years of age
Q: What type of Education do you need?
A: GED or High School Diploma
Q: Do I need to be employed to attend classes?
A: Yes, You have to be working for a Licensed Master Electrician
Q: Once I get a job how long do I have to get registered?
A: You have 30 days from your hire date
Q: How many nights a week do I have to attend?
A: Our program requires you to attend 1 night a week for 4 hours.
Q: How long is a school year?
A: Classes start in August and end in May for a total of 144 class hours a year.
Q: How long does it take to complete the program?
A: 2 years for Residential Journeyman (288 class hours, 4,000 OJT hours all In Residential) and 4 years for Journeyman (576 class hours, 8,000 OJT hours).
Q: How do I renew my License?
A: All Apprentices will need to go through our office to renew your license. All other license holders must renew your license through Enterprise Licensing and Permitting (lnpweb.com) With the Username the state has provided you (**DO NOT CREATE YOUR OWN USERNAME**) If they have not provided you with one you will need to email jamecia.robinson@arkansas.gov. If you are already licensed you will be required to upload your CEU certificate in order to renew your license.
Q: Do my out of State hours count?
A: All hours from an out of State BAT approved apprenticeship program is accepted at 100%. Without a BAT approved program you can only receive 50% of the total hours worked if it was in the last two NEC code cycles.
Q: How long do I have to turn in my out of state letters?
A: You have 30 days from the date you were registered.
Q: What happens after I complete the program?
A: As soon as you have the required class and OJT hours in for completion, You will need to get Affidavits from anyone you have worked for and email to our office. Once we receive that we will get your release and other documentation uploaded on the Test application and submit It. **Per the state If you are testing for your Residential you are required to stay In school until you pass your exam.**
Q: What if I miss a class?
A: If a class is missed you need to make it up within the same month you missed it in.
Q: What qualifications do your instructors have?
A: All of our instructors have completed Train the Trainer courses and have certification in Instructing.
Q: If I have attended another school will my class hours be transferred to this program?
A: Yes, if it was an approved program through the State of Arkansas.
